Cate Havstad-Casad is a custom hatter, farm owner, designer, writer and agrarian advocate based in the high desert region of Central Oregon. She runs Casad Family Farms with her husband Chris, their 1 year old son Hesston and a small but mighty team of friends and family.
Range Revolution, the name of this blog, was started around the time Cate launched a new company Range Revolution. Through building regional and traceable leather supply chains, and telling land-stories through design, Cate hopes to raise awareness about the importance of rangelands for our planet and our species health and survival. In concert with the health of the land, this work must ensure the wellbeing of the land stewards who care for these lands, the ranchers and pastoralists. This blog was started to begin telling these stories. Rebuilding healthful, resilient and regional food and fiber systems is not easy; it is worthwhile.
